Danetre Quilters meet
on the second and fourth Tuesday in every month, except August, at the
Abbey Centre in Daventry. The meetings start at 7.30 pm with a welcome
and refreshments, provided by the members and finish at 9.30 pm.
We try to make our programme varied and interesting
with opportunities to hear a variety of speakers, take part in workshops,
worktables, sit and sew, show and tell and an annual challenge. Our
challenge pieces are usually exhibited at the Bramble Patch in Weedon
during their 'Strawberry and Cream' week in June. In recent years we have
also exhibited our quilts in June at the Flore Flower festival and we
hope this opportunity continues to be available to us in the future.
We hold two social functions a year, one at Christmas
and one in mid summer.
Danetre Quilters
welcomes quilters of all ages and abilities and the more experienced
members are always willing to encourage less experienced members by
sharing their skills and expertise.
Membership is open to
all and there is a yearly subscription fee of £20 together with a meeting
fee of 50p – Speakers £2 – Non-members are welcome to any
meeting with a fee of £3.
Do come and join us, we are a progressive group
producing a mix of traditional and contemporary work that we are always
willing to show and discuss with members and visitors.
Our meeting room has good lighting, large tables and comfortable chairs;
it is warm and welcoming with excellent facilities. We look forward to seeing
you in the near future.
